Friends of Patan Hospital (FOPH) is a U.S.- based charity which was organized in 2002 to support a unique and remarkable hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal. We are here to pair the resources of generous and caring people in the U.S. with the healthcare needs and know-how of the people of Nepal.

Patan Hospital

Founded in 1982 as a Christian mission hospital, Patan Hospital has evolved into an independent secular hospital with its own Board of Directors. It maintains the values of its founders, providing quality compassionate care to all who come, regardless of religious affiliation or ability to pay.

PAHS is dedicated to sustained improvement of the health of the people in Nepal, especially those who are poor and living in rural areas, through innovation, equity, excellence and love in education, service and research.

Hospice Nepal

Hospice Nepal, the first organization of its kind in Nepal, provides both at-home and inpatient care - free of charge - for dying patients and their families. In the past year, they treated approximately 230 patients in the Kathmandu Valley.
